Northpark Central is a 20-story, Class A office building located just east of Northpark Mall and Northpark Central Expressway in Dallas, Texas. The building earned the ENERGY STAR in 1999, 2002, 2003 and 2009. To achieve the ENERGY STAR, all of the building's equipment must run efficiently and properly, ensuring that all regular repairs and maintenance are completed and that start/stop times on equipment are optimized. The building must also have retrofitting lighting (Northpark Central uses T8s), cooling tower and chill water pumps that utilize variable frequency drives, and motion sensors in most tenant areas (all new construction). Northpark Central’s use of lighting retrofits, variable frequency drives, and enhanced operational strategies were employed in achieving the designation ENERGY STAR.
